Who We Are

Lt.General James M. Gavin Challenge Coin The 82nd Airborne Division Association is for anyone who ever served in the 82nd Airborne Division, and anyone who is currently servingon active duty on jump status; or, has ever served in any of the uniformed services on either jump or glider status and was honorably discharged.

The Association was organized in England, prior to the Normandy invasion (1944).

We have members who have served with the 11th, 13th, 17th, 82nd, 101st Airborne Divisions; 187th, 503rd, 508th Airborne Regimental Combat Teams; 173rd Airborne Brigade (Separate) as well as troopers from Special Forces, Airborne Rangers, Marine Corps Recon, Navy SEALS, and Air Force Special Tactics personnel.

Our Mission Statement

Our mission is, has been, and always will be to:

  • To establish a permanent organization that will further develop the common bond among all who served with the 82nd Airborne Division and other Airborne units.
  • To maintain appropriate Chapter records and publicize the history and achievements of the 82nd Airborne Division.
  • To perpetuate the memory of airborne troopers who have died in the service
    of our country.
  • To maintain contact with all members of the Chapter who have become
    disabled.
  • To be of assistance and service to Chapter members in matters pertaining to
    veteran rights and benefits.
  • To encourage the Airborne aspect of National Defense.
  • To maintain a close liaison with the Association and to engender cooperation
    in a responsible manner to the demands made by the Officers and/or made
    through the Executive Director, acting in the furtherance of the aims and
    purposes of the Association.
